Radio for your soul

Do you often feel alone in Korea? In such moments you used to turn on the radio in your home country and by listening to the DJ’s words you’ve found a salvation. But here in Korea you cannot do it because of the language barrier? Not anymore! Today I’d like to introduce a radio station made especially for you, for the international students and workers in Korea.

Multicultural Music Radio Station started its 24-hours broadcasting on August 15,2008. It was established by Woogjin Foundation and Digital Radio KISS especially for multicultural families and students who live in Korea and for those who visit this country for vacations as well. Programs are hosted by native speakers from eight different countries on eight languages: Arabic, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Mongolian, Russian, Vietnamese and Thai. So, there will be no problems with understanding the content of the program.

Multicultural Music Broadcasting has several corners that provide useful information and daily tips on living in Korea and introduce Korean culture to foreign listeners. Every Monday Radio DJs provide you with some news about life in South Korea. If you listen to this radio program you will get to know about special language or music lessons for your children, cooking classes for foreigners, international film festivals etc. You can learn some Korean language as well, that will help you to adapt easily to a new life in this country.

Woongjin Foundation hopes to increase awareness and understanding of migrants in Korean society and promote an open-minded attitude among Koreans to other cultures, while contributing to the globalization of Korean broadcasting. The multicultural music broadcasting is playing a role of a ‘bridge’ that will ease social and cultural conflicts experienced by migrant workers and international students and help them to heal their wounds building unity in Korean society.

These programs are a real journey to the world of your favorite melodies! Listen to Korean music and the best songs of your home country. Radio DJs try to create an atmosphere of joy, happiness and love. Turn on this radio, have a giggle, have a boogie, do some learning along the way and you will never feel alone!
