Application Information for Singing and Dancing Competition

1. Festival Overview
○ Jeungpyeong K-Pop 2015 International Youth Festival
○ Organized by: Jeungpyeong People’s Solidarity for Participatory Democracy
○ Sponsored by: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Chungcheongbuk-do and Chungcheongbukdo Office of Education
○ Preliminary competition
1) Application deadline: October 1, 2015 (Thurs) at 18:00 (email, mail or fax)
2) Preliminary competition date: All contestants are required to gather at the Mirunamu Wood (park) located along the Bogang Cheon Stream on the west side of the Jeungpyeong-gun office.
○ Eligibility requirements: Koreans or foreign teens between 13 and 24 years old (Please refer to the exceptional clauses below.)
○ Awards
1) Awards: The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award, the Chungcheongbukdo Governor Award, the Chungcheongbukdo Education Superintendent Award, etc.
2) Prize: Total prize amount: About 15.8 million won (Grand prize: 5 million won)
3) Main competition: Prize will be awarded in the main competition
- Will start at special stage facility within the Bogang Cheon Stream Park, Jeungpyong-eup on Oct. 10, 2015 (Sat) at 18:00

2. Competition Category
○ Dance
1) Contestants: Teams comprising at least 3 individuals
2) Requirements: Max. 7 minutes of performance time/Contestants cannot compete more than once /Contestants can choose their music and must bring their MR CD to play.
3) Options: Any dance in the world.
○ Vocal/singing
1) Options: Contemporary songs or self-written songs
※ Selected song should be prepared in a MR-CD and brought to the competition.
2) Special treatment: A vocal band will earn additional points
○ Foreigner contestants
1) Competition Category: dance or vocal/singing
※ Selected song should be prepared in a MR-CD and brought to the competition.
2) Special treatment: Contestant’s own folk music or dance performance will earn additional points.

3. Exception clauses
1) All college students, regardless of their nationality and age, will be treated as teens
2) Team contestants shall be subject to the abovementioned section 1) and accepted if two thirds of the members are teens.
3) Any individual or team who won first or second prize in a previous competition over the last three years is not allowed to participate again.
