AP School Hong Kong & AP Korea: Entry-Level Behavior Therapists
AP School Hong Kong will be part of establishing an affiliate office in Seoul called AP Korea (currently known as CLDC). We are seeking entry-level Behavior Therapists to work with children with developmental delay in Seoul. Selected applicants will need to go to Hong Kong for about one month in the middle of July 2014 to receive an intensive and world-class training in Applied Behavior Analysis (“ABA”) in the form of didactic and practical hands-on learning before commencing work.
Behavior Therapists will implement home and center-based treatment programs, observe and record children’s behaviors, monitor student progress, participate in clinic and team meetings, and receive pre-service and ongoing training from Program Supervisors and Consultants based out of Hong Kong.
Applicants should be:
Highly passionate towards children;
Bilingual in English and Korean;
Degree holder (bachelor’s degree or higher with a preference in psychology (심리학과), social welfare (사회복지학과), education (교육학과) or any other related discipline;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
Energetic and outgoing.
Behavior Therapists are responsible for executing specially designed programs to children with developmental delay and, in particular, autism spectrum disorders. Sessions are usually conducted in a one-on-one format, small-group teaching and/or structured play dates at different stages.
Your work experience here can help you meet certain eligibility requirements to receive an internationally recognized professional certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) sponsored by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board based out of the United States. You must be available to go to Hong Kong for about four (4) weeks in the middle of July 2014 for the initial intensive training.
